Ohren spitzen liebe Kultisten

Wer liebt ihn nicht? H.P. Oben Jon Foster.
Ab dem 16. Okt also bis zum 08. Nov läuft die Ausstellung „AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS: A TRIBUTE TO THE WRITINGS OF LOVECRAFT“.
Schade, dass ich so weit entfernt wohne…

„So much of existence is beyond the realm of common understanding and perhaps it is best that it remains so. The writings of H.P. Lovecraft explore this realm of incomprehensible existence and most often the terror that accompanies. For oftentimes, the concepts that are most horrific to us are those things outside of our understanding.

With much of his most notable work written during the last decade of his life, H.P. Lovecraft’s reputation has grown substantially after his death and he is now considered one of the most influential horror writers of the 20th century“

„When director Guillermo del Toro spoke with Steve at the Saturn Awards, he was very pessimistic that his 3D adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness would ever come to fruition due to its lack of commercial viability. He explained, “It is very difficult for the studios to take the step of doing an R-rated tentpole with a tough ending [and] no love story.” You know, unless the man who produced and directed the two highest-grossing movies ever offers his services.

Deadline reports that James Cameron will produce the film, and was a major selling point in securing funds from Universal — del Toro will begin pre-production in the coming weeks with a summer 2011 3D shoot in mind. „
